Rosie Thomas & Sufjan Stevens - Where Were You?
Really not feeling great about autotuned Rosie Thomas. Enough already people.

This was the track that Sufjan Stevens and Ray Raposa performed during the rolling credits of ‘Beyond this Place’ at BAM tonight. It was also around the same time one salty tear rolled down my trembling cheek.
This was a special night. Glad I was able to be in New York for it.
Last year I drove 8 hours to see Sufjan Stevens play a 200-person show in Champaign, IL, because I wasn’t sure if he’d ever really tour again. As it turns out, he did. Drove a much more reasonable 3 hours tonight to see him play in Knoxville, and it was a hilarious, beautiful, fascinating and pretty much perfect evening. This picture of Sufjan dancing in his double visor with glittery tassles hanging from his shiny pants and multiple glow-y things within arm’s reach pretty much sums it up. I am a huge fan, the kind of fan that preorders records and buys them on vinyl and drives 3-8 hours to sit in the front row and sends annoying emails to management asking them to ask the artist to play my favorite song. And it feels awesome to be that kind of fan again.
