I just signed up for this year’s Boulevard Bolt, a 5-mile Thanksgiving morning run in Nashville. This is hilarious because I have not run since July (thanks, broken foot!), but I have always wanted to run it and I’m rarely in town for Thanksgiving so what the hell. Today is the last day for $30 registration, it goes up to $40 tomorrow and will be $60 day-of. The run benefits Nashville’s homeless outreach organizations, like The Contributor. Come straggle it with me!
Tonight I saw the new Sigur Ros live film, INNI, and I feel like my skin is buzzing with electricity. So I will write about some things.
Blogging about the Wilco show has been on my to do list since October 3 and time has not served to organize my thoughts in any sort of cohesive manner. I’m cutting my losses on that one. It will live on in my memory but not in the all-important Tumblr.
I went to New York about a week and a half ago for a long weekend. New York City is one of my favorite places and it was nice to go for pleasure and not for work for once (though I managed to schedule in a day at the office). A close friend just moved there and it was a weekend full of the best people, the best times and filling my once-a-year go-out-dancing-until-4am quota.
I wrote a post on Halloween that I posted privately. In retrospect, I wish I had published it.
2011 is slipping away fast. There will be a trip to the mountains, two more trips to New York, a visit from a bff, a trip to Virginia for Christmas and a rare, low-key Thanksgiving at home in Nashville before it’s over.
This was the track that Sufjan Stevens and Ray Raposa performed during the rolling credits of ‘Beyond this Place’ at BAM tonight. It was also around the same time one salty tear rolled down my trembling cheek.
This was a special night. Glad I was able to be in New York for it.
You look like Liz Lemon’s twin! :)
This is the best thing that anyone has ever said to me.
I’m declaring this weekend pumpkin weekend.

I went to Seaside, FL with the Markerette. I ate the best crab cakes of my life, bought new sunglasses, drank an entire box of wine, sent some emails on the beach, paid $8 for fresh pressed juice, drove two hours to a music festival for the day and watched The Shins with my feet in the sand, found $20 on the beach, read four books and got sunburned on my forehead. It was exactly what I needed.
